@AG: A very late answer. But I listened to your speech on my ipod and it was a good one. A lot of things was a lot easier to understand when listening on my own and with the great possibility to check advanced words on www.ord.se (Free online Swedish/english dictionary) ;-)

So I like to encourage everybody to download Adam Greenfields speech on the link above and listen to him. It makes you think.

Heh...I don't believe anybody recorded the MindTrek talk, but there's a very similar one here if you've got the patience for it:

Anyway, I'll be speaking around Finland more and more often, so there'll always be another chance. Hope to see you around sometime.

@AG: Cool to get a comment from you! Sorry for this late answer. Maybe it wasn't that theoretical then. I should give it another chance. Do you know if someone recorded it?

I think it just was too late in the conference and that you were using a truckload of english words I've never heard before. And then I think that I understand english pretty well so for a lot of the Fins it must have been even harder to follow you.

The huge drop off happened anyhow after you finnished your talk. And this is a cruel but also hilarious review of Himanens speech:

Hope to be able to hear you another time and also to talk to you. Good luck with your future work Adam!!

Hahaha...I didn't actually feel like I had any problem maintaining the audience's attention, nor, does it seem from the picture you've posted (taken during my talk) that there can have been too many people mingling in the hallway. It certainly felt like a full house during the Q&A session!

But what I'd really want to take issue with is your characterization of the talk as "VERY theoretical." It wasn't, actually, not at all - it was empirical, grounded in observations about the things we can see happening all around us. The slide you happen to have chosen for an illustration, for example, is a picture of a ZipCar service card: a real thing that real people use each and every day, not a "theory object."

So while I'm very, very gratified that the talk received the overwhelmingly positive response it did (especially in contrast to poor Pekka #stophimanen), it's important to me that you not somehow misunderstand it as being hand-wavy speculation. I'd argue it was something a whole lot closer to reportage...except for the very last bit.

At any rate, thanks for being there and thanks for sharing your perspective!
