You can help improve the text to speech voices!

Listen with webReader

We are currently working very hard to fix a lot of pronunciation corrects (words that are read in a strange/funny/wrong way) in the text-to-speech voices. No text-to-speech engines are perfect, so sometimes it is needed to “learn” it how certain words should be pronounced.

Words such as Foreign words, brand names, technical expressions, abbreviations and person names can be a bit tricky for the TTS to pronounce since they are usually exceptions not following the “rules” of the language. All languages are made up by rules and exceptions, and the list of the latter is almost endless.

You can help!

If you come across words that you should say belong to the  “common” category, please let us know. You can use the Customer Service/Feedback menu on http://webreader.readspeaker.com

    WEBREADER mispronounced.

  2. Thanks for your input. I will forward that to support@voice-corp.com. We have just added some more languages and it’s possible that we have not managed to get all of them up to speed :-)

I’ve been tracking ReadSpeaker many years, across several spin-off apps. For some reason the newer TTS engines don’t seem to be as good as the old ones. For example, I have yet to see any TTS tool on the web that could come close to the male voice behind Audio Feed Creator. Vocal Fruits and now webReader are not as smooth and natural sounding as Audio Feed Creator. Why is this?

  4. Hi Derrick,

We reserve our best voices for our Enterprise services. You can read more about them on the http://www.voice-corp.com website. So, all the “old ones” are still very much available, but since they are much more expensive, we can not offer the services at these low prices as we have for the webReader service.

Regarding the AudioFeed Creator, we will probably need to change to the “new” voices on that service as well since it is a service offered free of charge. I hope you understand.

    Best regards
    Niclas
